Seeing Family In A Familiar Neighborhood
Cycling through Marin County was beautiful and a nice warm up for the traverse through the big city. I wanted to stop in to say hello to friends but we still had lots of biking to do. After completing the dreaded climb over Devils Slide we arrived at our destination in Half Moon Bay at Colin's aunt and uncle's house. Thanks Uncle Johnny and Aunt Puala! They treated us to a delicious steak dinner, a warm shower, great company and a very relaxing stay. Colin and I each ate an entire steak! We also met up with Colin's Mom there. She stocked us up with homemade goodies and we had a great visit. Colin's brother and little niece met us in Half Moon Bay as well and we had a picnic together at the Moss Beach tide pools. It was wonderful to have some good family time!
After leaving Half Moon Bay we made a stop in Pescadero for some famous artichoke bread and pastries then stopped for the night at the Pigeon Point Light House Hostel. We met a guy on the road who was on his 10th day of his 15 day Canada to Mexico tour...uhhh, insane! We also met an older man in his 80's doing the tour, also pretty impressive. We have met all kinds of cycling tourists on the road. Colin and I feel like we are on the luxury tour since we cook "camping gourmet" and carry wine or a cold beer with us for the campground. It's been great!
You two are on a roll!! Powered by California Sunshine. I think we will miss eachother in Paso, in fact you may be almost home. We arrive there on the 25th. Big Sur coming up soon and I hope you don't go through there on a weekend.

Great to see you both the other day. Sorry we couldn't stay any longer but we really enjoyed the time we had and hearing more about your journeys and relaxing with you. Can't wait to see all of the pictures some day soon. Keeping you both in prayer...Love, Mom
